The resolution, commonly referred to as DPI or “dots per inch”, means the clarity of the image. The higher the DPI, the clearer the picture. To achieve a crisp, clear image on the finished product, 300 DPI images are required. Resolution is the most important factor in digital artwork. Resolution must be correct when the artwork is designed (it can not be increased afterwards). The most common misconception is that artwork that looks good on an email will print well on a product. Email artwork is almost always 72 DPI, and therefore insufficient.
